Engineering & Robotics
This program is divided into four main engineering majors: Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics and Architecture. Based on its curriculum, students learn vital skills such as cutting, drawing, 3-D building structures, electronic circuit connections and soldering. The program also allows our students to discover the world of robotics. It is an eye-opener and a motivational session helping the child in the detection of his interest and orientations in robots building and programming.

Map Test
The MAP Growth Test is an examination designed to track students' individual academic progress.
The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) are computer-adaptive assessment tests produced by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). The tests are designed for Grade 1 through 10th-grade students and assess reading, language usage, math, and, for some grades, general sciences. The test is untimed but usually takes about an hour to complete.
The MAP Growth provides each child with a unique testing experience that is suitable for his or her academic level, independent of grade.
Each subject area is an approximately one-hour test. The test uses a variety of question types, such as multiple-choice, fill in the blank, and drag and drop answers. Each section contains approximately 52 questions. Each time the child answers correctly, the following question is more difficult. But, if the child answers incorrectly, the next question is easier. The RIT score the student receives at the end reflects the level at which the student answers roughly 50% of the questions correctly.
The good news, the MAP test is untimed! This means you do not have to rush in with your answers- just take your time and try the best you can.
Since the MAP test is taken on a computer, the scores are available once the child finishes the test.
community Service
Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge and provide a service to those who need it most. Here are a few reasons why we believe student volunteers are beneficial.
- Teaches students about social responsibility
- Helps them develop leadership skills
- Aids in self-discovery
- Brings people together
- Serves as a learning experience
- Exposes students to multiculturalism and diversity
- Improves the community
- Helps students during their university application
- Gives a spark of hope and joy to those in need
How we get our students involved
- Host a fundraising event and donate the money to an organization.
- Donate Books
- Donate warm clothing, food and/or toys for those in need
- Bake sale
- Visit hospice to Spend time with the elderly
- Help preserve nature. Participate in a cleanup day at a local street or park.
- Plant trees, flowers, or other plants
- Bring a smile to a child’s face
One of the requirements for High School students (international program) is to finish 60 credit hours of community service work. The community work includes lending a helping hand to the less fortunate and raising awareness on vital issues that concern the community. These credit hours can be earned starting from grade 10.
The importance of community services is greater now more than ever after a pandemic that has upended the lives of so many people worldwide. Our students’ time is valuable and useful, and the benefits of community service for them are endless.
Qur’an & Hadeeth
In accordance with our school’s vision and mission of faith uniting us & as inhabitants of an Islamic society where every positive act begins with the teaching of the Holy Quran learners are trained to reach the desired level of excellence. Learners are trained three times weekly early morning for half an hour in the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.
Reciting & reading the Holy Quran on a regular basis also sharpens their memory. In the academic year, 2016-2017 one learner in 10th Grade won 2nd place in the inter-school Holy Quran competition (among 31 Schools) for memorizing the whole Quran. In the same year, two other students won 1st place at an inter-school level for memorizing the Hadith (a collection of traditions containing sayings of the prophet) and 1st place for having the best voice.
In the academic year, 2017-2018 one learner in 9th Grade won 5th place in inter-school level for memorizing the Hadith and another learner won 1st place for having the best voice.
ASL/ESL
At the beginning of every academic year, diagnostic exams are conducted in core subjects (English/Math/Science & Arabic) at all grade levels to determine if learners are up to their grade-level standards or not. Once their results have been analyzed learners are identified as needing Remedial Plans/Learning Support/ESL or ASL.
Learners are then provided with several services such as Learning Support Program (conducted once a week where students are given extra support and tutoring in three core subjects such as English/ Math or Arabic for an hour after school. ESL (English as a Second Language) or ASL (Arabic as a Second Language) is a language study program for learners who are struggling with either language. Support is provided by the Subject Teacher (HM) or the Teaching Assistant to ensure learners are able to access the curriculum to the best of their ability. This program aims to provide a balanced education by providing Individual Education Plans that meet the learners’ specific needs
Support Classes
At UCA we attempt to provide a program that enables individual students to reach their full potential. This is done through:
- Differentiated curriculum
- Individual learning plans
- Learning support classes
Differentiated Classroom Programs
At UCA, teachers apply differentiated teaching instructions that help create a safe and supportive environment and continually assess and adjust lesson content to meet learners’ needs. Teachers use problem-solving activities together with the explicit teaching of thinking skills to engage and enrich students. Teachers use a range of assessments including standardized testing to identify strengths and where a student may require support. Enrichment worksheets could be given to learners to provide extended learning opportunities and challenges to students who have already mastered, or can quickly master the basic curriculum.
Student Individual Learning Plans
Teachers together with parents, set goals for students to achieve and work through the strategies at home and at school that will be used to support the child achieve these individual goals.
Learning Support Classes
Learning Support classes meet on a regular basis. Classes are conducted weekly (or twice weekly) the students work on new concepts with the teacher and review previous concepts, employing the discussion method.
The goal is to improve the learners' level of fluency and proficiency, depending on learners’ abilities, interests, and needs to reach grade-level standards.
Learning Support Courses include providing certain learners with Modified Exams
Support takes a variety of forms:
- Teacher support. Identifying specific learning and support needs for individual students, assisting in implementing these strategies.
- Small groups or individual students may be withdrawn during the course of the week to participate in further learning activities. These groups are fluid and are identified through teacher assessment. They are ever-changing as the learning needs of the students change.
The Learning Support program provides a purposeful learning environment that is able to cater to a variety of learning styles.
Intensive Courses
High School learners are also given Extra Support Intensive Training Classes on Thursdays, Saturdays or Online Classes (ACT, AP, IGCSE) for all their external exam subjects.
Clubs
Once a week learners also participate in after school Clubs such as Departmental Clubs which include Art Club/ Environmental Club/ Robotics Club/Architectural Club & Interior Design Club where they are encouraged to improve social skills, overall coordination, sense-of-self, confidence, teamwork, strategic thinking, relationships & friendships with others as these activities do wonders to a child’s development.
